The BiPAP ST machine, also known as a bi-level positive airway pressure BiPAP machine, is a type of non-invasive ventilation (NIV) used to treat breathing disorders such as sleep apnea and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It facilitates breathing by transmitting air pressure through a mask to help keep the airway open.
"ST" refers to a particular model or feature of the device, such as a "spontaneous timed" mode that adjusts pressure according to the patient's breathing pattern. The BiPAP ST machine responds to the user's normal breathing, and if the user does not breathe, the timed mode is activated, allowing him to breathe.
